Day-by-Day Itinerary
Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park
Your dedicated driver/guide will be waiting at Kigali International Airport. Based on your arrival time there may be opportunity to explore Kigali — beautiful crafts, fabrics, and art markets await. Afterwards you set out for Nyungwe Forest National Park, one of the largest forests in East and Central Africa.
Chimpanzee Tracking, Canopy Walk & Birding
After breakfast, the driver takes everyone to park headquarters to meet the ranger for briefing before the chimpanzee trail. Return for lunch, then the afternoon canopy walk — the only one in Africa, suspended 200m above the forest floor. Dinner and overnight at Crater Safari Lodge.
Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Day 3 begins with an exciting drive to the spectacular Volcanoes National Park. Stops along the way allow for photography and lunch. The day ends with overnight at Mountain Gorillas View Hotel.
Gorilla Trekking & Twin Lakes Visit
We commence the day with breakfast and proceed on a journey to visit the twin lakes. The trek takes us through different routes where you might see other wildlife. The gorilla trekking follows in the main part of the day.
Golden Monkey Tracking, Dian Fossey Hike & Iby'Iwacu Cultural Tour
After breakfast you have the option of golden monkey tracking or the Dian Fossey hike at Karisoke Research Centre — formerly the base of the legendary American anthropologist. The afternoon features the Iby'Iwacu cultural village experience with traditional dance and local interaction.
Transfer to Kigali & Departure
Our last day in Rwanda. Drive back to Kigali — a home of hospitality and one of Africa's cleanest, most orderly cities. Upon arriving you are at liberty to explore some locations for last-minute shopping before departing for the airport.
